This Cranberry Sauce is a must-have for the holiday season! Packed with tart cranberries, zesty orange, and a hint of spices, it’s the perfect blend of sweet and tangy. Easy to make, it can also be prepared ahead for stress-free entertaining.

Ingredients

- 12 oz fresh cranberries

- 1 small apple, peeled and grated

- 1 small orange, zest and juice

- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

- 1/4 cup granulated sugar

- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar

- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

- 1/8 tsp ground cloves

- Pinch of sea salt

- 2/3 cup water

- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

1. Combine Ingredients

1. In a medium saucepan, combine the cranberries, grated apple, orange zest and juice, apple cider vinegar, both sugars, cinnamon, cloves, sea salt, and water. Stir until everything is well mixed.

2. Cook the Sauce

1. Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.

2. Cook for 5–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cranberries burst, and the sauce thickens slightly.

3. Finish with Vanilla

1. Remove the saucepan from the heat. Stir in the vanilla extract for added depth of flavor.

4. Cool and Serve

1. Transfer the cranberry sauce to a serving dish and allow it to cool completely.

2. Serve at room temperature or chilled, depending on your preference.

Storage Tips

- Make Ahead:

  - Prepare the cranberry sauce up to one week in advance. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

- Freezing Instructions:

  - Place the cooled sauce in a freezer-safe container or bag. Freeze for up to 2 months Thaw overnight in the refrigerator before serving.

Notes

- Yield: About 2 cups (32 servings; 2 tablespoons per serving).

- Sweetener Options:

  - For a natural alternative, use 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup instead of sugar.

  - Artificial sweeteners can also be substituted based on your dietary needs.

- Texture Tip:

  - For a smoother sauce, blend with an immersion blender after cooking.

This Cranberry Sauce brings a burst of festive flavor to your table. Whether served with turkey, ham, or enjoyed on its own, it’s guaranteed to be a crowd-pleaser! 🥄🍊🍎
